Aloe vera - the wonderful gel

Aloe Vera, a medicinal plant and also known as medicinal aloe,  is a succulent plant. It grows in the dry and arid regions with very less water. Some of the abilities of the Aloe Vera plant have been proved after researches and one of them is that Aloe Vera extracts are helpful in the treatment of Diabetes and elevated blood lipids in humans.

In India, the plant is known  as Ghritkumari or  Gheekvar in Hindi , Kathazhai in Tamil,  and  used in Ayurvedic medicine as external and internal medicines.
