Fresh Vegetables for Health

The freshness of the vegetables and fruits you buy and consume is the deciding factor in the amount of nutrition in a day. The point here is always pick and choose the best from the shops and bring them home to store in the refrigerator for your use.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are the finest source of vitamins and minerals which one can get easily. They are rich in fibre and most are low in fats and calories. Eating them regularly will improve your complexion and also give you plenty of energy. But you'll get these only if the vegetables you consume are fresh.

When you pick vegetables and fruits always keep in mind that they should be fresh and also be free from blemishes. Broken skin or small pores indicate that something is wrong and they are not fresh. Sometimes the worms would have eaten off them before you.

So do not buy things infested with worms. Always pick and choose vegetables and fruits, which have a smooth and soft skin. They should be of normal size and not puffed up by other means.

Some vegetables like brinjals are oiled to make them look fresh.Donot buy vegetables which look dry and shriveled. Some vegetables like onions and garlic should be dry, smooth and clean.

They should not be moist even slightly, then they'll get mouldy and squishy soon. Even some ome spoilt onions are oiled and dried in the sun to show that they are fresh.

Buy from good shops and choose correctly because they have a good staying power and can be stored for a long time.
