Courtallam / Kutraalam Waterfalls

Kutraalam water falls is in the Thirunelveli district of the state of Tamil nadu. The waterfalls formed in the Western ghats at a height of 550 feet attracts tourist from all over the world and is known as the Spa of the South. It has been found by the researchers that the water of the falls possessed rare rejuvenating and reinvigorating qualities, which has surprised many.

It is said that the water has the property of curing almost all ailments, since the water flows along lots of medicinal plants and herbs before falling down at Kutraalam. The water falling on you from that height relaxes you from all the tensions and relaxes you completely. The sound of the bubbling water itself is relaxing and is music to the ears.

How to Reach Kutraalam

Closest Railway stations are Tenkasi and Shenkottai , and are placed somewhat equidistant from the water falls.
Closest Airport will be Tutucorin in Tamil nadu, about 86 kilometers away and about 112 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram of Kerala.
By Road, transport buses are available from each and every major town of that area including Chennai. Long distance deluxe buses run from all the cities in Tamil nadu and Keral since it is close to the Keral Tamil nadu border.
Season
The season starts from June to September when the south west monsoon comes to India. There is an ancient Siva Temple known as Tirukkutralanathar Temple at the main waterfalls which has inscriptions of Chola and Pandyan kings.
