Fish doing Manicure and Pedicure in Chennai
Nowadays , all said and done, fish have started doing beauty therapies like Manicure and Pedicure for Chennaites at the Natural Unisex Salon and Spa.
As per the owner of the beauty clinic, " the Doctor fish moving around in a tub of warm water, numerous small fish nibble at dead skin, leaving hands and feet shiny and smooth.
Deviating from the usual, a fish pedicure or manicure offers a unique ticklish and lively experience to those who indulge in it."
A normal pedicure is not an happy experiance, cleaning out dead cells and cracks sometimes hurts the customer. A fish pedicure is really enjoyable because these fishes can nibble at only dead cells and they just cannot eat any live ones. So the customers have a ticklish sense of feelings while sitting up for this experience.
How the pedicure is done by Fish
Garra rufa or 'Doctor Fish' used for this treatment thrive in the hot water which does not support much plant or aquatic life. So the fish learned to thrive on whatever available for them like dead cells and flaking skin etc. Since they do not have teeth they cannot take a bite at the living skin as they do not have teeth.
About 20- 30 minutes in the fish tank, the customers are given the standard pedicure treatment, made easier by the fish beauticians.
